Dr. Wang received her B.S. and M.S. of mechanical engineering degree from University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB), China in 1997 and 2000, respectively, and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 2003. She worked as a postdoctoral at RPI in 2004.

She joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Oakland University in 2005 as a tenure-tracked assistant professor. Her research focuses on transport phenomena and scaling laws in fuel cells and turbulent boundary layers. Areas of research topics include:  PEM Fuel Cells Modeling and Optimization; PEM Fuel Cells Design, Assembly and Testing; New Materials for Bipolar Plates of PEM Fuel Cells; Similarity Analysis of Transport Phenomena in PEM Fuel Cells; Scaling Laws and Temperature Profile for the Turbulent Boundary Layer with Heat Transfer; Scaling Laws and Velocity Profile for the Turbulent Boundary Layer subject to External pressure gradient. Her expertise was acknowledged by her peers when she won the American Society of Mechanical Engineering’s Best Paper Award in 2002

Over the three years of working at Oakland University , Dr Wang has taught five different classes, from both undergraduate to graduate level. The classes she has taught include  Introduction to Thermal Engineering (Sophomore) ,  Introduction to Thermal and Fluids Transport( Junior), Energy Systems Analysis (Senior), Fundamentals of Fuel Cells (Masters), and Convective Transport Phenomena ( Ph.D.). Dr. Wang has supervised three groups of senior design project. She is also the faculty advisor of the National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (NSF REU). She has supervised a total of 5 undergraduates for the past summer.  She is also the faculty coordinator of ME trip to China Program at Oakland University . She is currently supervising 4 Ph.D. students, 3 Master’s students, four undergraduates on the research projects.

汪霞  博士

汪霞博士毕业于北京科技大学，获得热能工程学士学位(1997) 和 硕士学位(2000)。2003年，她毕业于美国的伦瑟勒理工大学, 获机械工 程学院博士学位。 2004年在同一所大学继续从事了一年的博士后工作。

2005年，汪博士开始任教于美国奥克兰大学机械工程系，主要的研究方向：燃料电池和湍流边界层。具体的研究领域包括：质子膜交换电池的模拟、设计和测试；燃料电池二极板新材料开发；湍流边界层相似分析；湍流边界层传热和分离。目前，汪博士指导4位博士，3位硕士的论文研究工作。汪博士的科研成果曾荣获美国机械工程学会最佳论文奖。

汪博士先后为本科生、研究生授课5门 ：热力学基础，传热流体基础，能源系统分析，燃料电池和对流传输现象。至今指导了本科生3组毕业创新设计。 汪博士参与指导美国国家科学自然基金支持的本科生科研课题，在过去的两年里 , 她指导三组项目，共五个本科生。
